The Man With No Limbs

The Man With No Limbs

Imagine yourself without a feet or hands. Try to picture your life without the ability to walk, work with your hands, do your basic needs or even embrace those people whom you love. With all these disabilities, do you think you can still live a life without questioning its purpose? Meet Nicholas Vujicic, the man without arms and legs and let us try to know on how he manage to live a happy and meaningful life despite his physical condition.

Nick was born in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia. His family was both blesses to have a son like him and was challenged of raising a son who refused to allow his physical condition to limit his lifestyle.
Although Nick was born without arms and legs but still he is able to pursue and achieve the passion that he considered to be his mission for a lifetime- to touch and inspire everybody's life.

During his early days, it cannot be denied that it was difficult for him to handle the situation that he had. Throughout his childhood, Nick not only dealt with the typical challenges that he experienced in school and even to the society. He struggled with depression and loneliness because of the bullies that he received from the people around him. Nick sometimes questioned himself why he was different among all the other kids? He even questioned the purpose of life and think if he even had a purpose to live?

Knowing how hard the condition that Nick was bringing but he was able to manage them and continue the life that he is living. According to Nick the victory over his struggles, was well as his strength and passion for life today, can be credited to his faith in God. His family, friends and loved ones helps to motivate and inspire him to go on with life. Nicholas Vujicic was now famous all over the world. Through his speaking engagement which started when he was still at the age of 19, he was able to travel around the world sharing his story to different kinds of people; it may be rich or poor, student or professionals.

Today, he is not only known to be a dynamic young evangelist but he is known to be a man who accomplish
more than most people achieve in a lifetime. Nick is now an author, musician and actor.
Who would have thought that the man with no arms and legs would be able to paint, swim and do fishing?

He is the president of the International non-profit ministry, Life without Limbs, which was established in 2005. "If God can use a man without arms and legs to be his hands and feet, then He will certainly use a willing heart!" This is one of the messages that Nick stated which made every listener believe that God really has a plan for us and that plan is a part of our mission.
Nick is now a happy married man and a father.
And what struck me most is when he said the lone " I may not be able to hold my wife's hand-but I will be able to hold her heart". - Nick Vujicic-

An Exceptional Richness

An Exceptional Richness!

Do you feel the need of little inspiration to plan for your vacation this summer? Have you chosen a place where you think you could enjoy, relax and stay for long in a place without worrying on bigger expenses? Well, here's a personal experience of mine that will surely gives a lot of information for a traveler about the place where I considered as a "Home away from home".

WELCOME TO THE BEAUTIFUL ISLAND OF BOHOL!

The province of Bohol is now one of the most visited places in the Philippines. It is getting to be popular not only among local visitors but foreign tourists as well. Getting to Bohol was part in the list of my adventure during summer. Aside from I have relatives living in Bohol, what drives me to keep on coming back to the place was because of its magnificent natural resources which most of them are unexplored and undisturbed.

As a traveler, we have to be knowledgeable enough about the place, the kind of people and their way of living, most importantly, we have to bring enough money to budget all our expenses. The cheapest way to get to Bohol from Cebu is to take the ferries from Pier 1 or Pier 3 Cebu City Port to Tubigon Bohol.

Schedule of trip from Cebu to Tubigon Via MV Star Craft, Pier 1, Cebu Port

Tubigon is a town located at the Eastern coast of Bohol Island. I arrived in Pier 1 port at 9:00am; I was scheduled to take the 10:30am (Cebu-Tubigon) trip of the starcraft ferry. Unlike any other ferries that are bound to Tagbilaran, going to Tubigon will only costs Php 175 (regular rate) and a discounted rate of Php 135 for students. I arrived in Tubigon port after 1hour and 45 minutes of travel.

When I arrived in Tubigon terminal, I then decided to take a bus bound to Tagbilaran City and it costs me Php 50 for my fare.
Tubigon buses heading to Tagbilaran City

I was passing by the towns of Calape, Loon, Maribojoc and Cortes before I arrived in Tagbilran City. Tagbilaran is the capital of Bohol province and is advertised as " The City of Friendship". No doubt, the people in Bohol are indeed hospitable and accommodating. As I get off the bus, I realized that the City is the only place in Bohol where malls, fast food chains, and luxurious hotel and resorts are located. The biggest mall in Bohol is the Island City Mall.
The biggest mall in Bohol is located in Tagbilaran City; Island City Mall

Here are the places which I considered a must to visit and must be included in your itinerary by the time you visit Bohol:

Bool, Tagbilaran City

3.Baclayon Church

A Working Student's Life

POVERTY?..

Poverty is not a hindrance for a student to make his/ her dreams come true.
It is just a mere word which made me realized that I can be successful more than what I thought if I will just be strong and believe that my dreams would really do come true.

I am a working student in one of the most prestigious school in Cebu City. I am now in my five years of service working as a scholar, I entered the scholarship since I started studying as a college student. The scholarship was indeed a big help not only to me but also to my family. It is also a great blessing for not because of the said scholarship, I will not be able to study in a good and in a highly recommendable school.

FUN & CHALLENGING!..

Being a working student is both challenging and fun. Challenging in a way that I carry different responsibilities not only in the office where I am assigned, but also in the classroom where I do my studies.
As a working student, I am held responsible in every work and transactions done in the office everyday. It is challenging for I do not only do paper jobs, but I do a lot of multitasking works. Me and my colleagues face and handle different kinds of diverse personalities, namely the students, parents and faculty members. Being in an Academic office, all of us (working students) have to be accurate in every information, details and answers that we communicate to our dear costumers (students, parents & faculty members), and we should have the presence of mind in every assigned work that we do. Facing different kinds of people everyday is already our daily routine.

 EXPERIENCES WITH COLLEAGUES.....

Being part of the team was also fun, in a way that I and my colleagues, we treat each other as brothers and sisters. Together, we share happy moments so as our terrible experiences with our Boss's .
There are times that we got scolded by our Boss for we failed to do a certain task, and there are also times where we are praised for a job well done.

WORK WITH LOVE & DEDICATION...

Time management, perseverance, patience and hard work are what I need to have as a working student.
I have to work with love and dedication and do all the best that I could to repay the privileges and support that my beloved school gave me. Being part of the scholarship is truly a blessing, through this, I now become more independent, more responsible, and develop into a more matured person.

REWARD!...

At the end, I know that a brighter future awaits me.
With my family who serves as an inspiration and strength for me to strive hard and by not getting tired of working and studying everyday. All these hard work was all for my family and that I promise of whatever blessing I will receive after I graduate in college, it will all goes to them.
